Regarding the lil bubbles swimming around it, it’s nothing gross, just “amphiphilic mucins which have evolved from epitoniid egg masses”, i.e. the eggy bubbles make it float well. Speaking of, like some other snails, Violet starts life as a biological male but changes to female, who then holds onto the eggs.
