Pikaaaaaaaaa-!

"It's all about renewal, taking the old and making it new.

If you're looking to be green, you also have to deal with the purple, brown and blue."

No matter how powerful this card is, no matter how many decks we see them in, who could ever get bored of seeing this little face?

Found in Asia and North America, the Pika is a rabbit-like animal which holds the obscure record of being the highest-dwelling mammal in the world (the Himalayan Large-Eared Pika, since you ask).

The Chinese government has had an extermination programme in place since 1958, as Pikas are considered a pest, damaging natural grassland. Research now suggests that Pika are a keystone species for biodiversity - so perhaps it’s a good thing the extermination effort wasn’t very successful.

While you can see the resemblance, the Pika is quite different from the Pokemon it inspired. Lacking any kind of lightning attack (we know, disappointing, right?), it prefers instead to run, hide and shout when under threat.
