RESURRECTION SEASON

Well, well, well, we reckon this could be a big one. Deep breaths for… *.°˖Resurrection Season!°˖*.

Hmm.. there’s a lot going on, so what’s the best way to go about explaining this… let’s try…

What?

We’re adding loads of power to over THIRTY older collections.

We’re releasing a bunch of NEW cards to smaller collections.

We’re making (almost) ALL collections available ALL of the time.

Who?

While it’s us (the recently nerfed Content Managers :/) putting the schedule together, it’s thanks to literal years of thoughtful feedback from you guys that’s shaped this Season the way it is. We’ve been keeping an eye on collections that you’d like to be stronger, trade values and… some empty collections that have needed some love for a long time (*cough* Turbulent Tudors *cough*).

Where?

Everywhere and nowhere, all at once (on your phones, in this app, for the next six weeks).

How?

  • Every Monday this Resurrection Season, we will be releasing a FRESH Balance Patch, full of 100% BUFFS for older, forgotten collections that haven’t seen action for a while. All Limited Epics and Higher from these patches will be available in a weekly Card Upgrade! pack, in store for 7 days.
  • At the same time, we will be releasing the Collection Resurrection (handy that it rhymes) pack, featuring a random GUARANTEED new card from a smaller collection, from a pool of about 12 cards, until almost ALL collections reach a minimum of 15 cards. NEW cards of all rarities will have the same chance of dropping in these packs. These packs will also be available in store for the whole week. Throughout the week, we will also be releasing some additional cards to help these collections out!
  • We have removed Collection of the Day packs and the associated new cards that come out in these packs. From now on, almost ALL Collection Packs that contain at least 15 cards are available all the time at reduced prices in the Collection view.
  • To enhance the Collection view, we’ve given each collection its own short biography. On top of some new material for our veteran card back readers to digest, this provides a quick look at the scope of each collection for new players.
  • At the end of this Resurrection Season, on 17th March 2025, all newly eligible collections will be available for purchase through the Collection view in the same format.
  • NOTE: There’s a heck of a lot going on and we know that balance in the game will be a little more turbulent than usual while releases and buffs are made. There will likely be a Balance Patch in early April to sort out any chaos we might have inadvertently caused…

Why?

  • There are some collections that, inarguably, just need a bit of attention. We pride ourselves on the eclectic mix of *gestures wildly* in the game, but it’s hardly worth bragging about if you can’t play the Collections you love! We hope these balance updates and new cards can help make that possible.
  • There are also some collections that we added and then just.. didn’t add that many cards into. That’s 100% on us, and it makes the cards in these collections really hard to get too. So we intend to fix that by filling out these collections to 15 cards each and adding them to these Collection Pack formats.
  • We know there are loads of cards in the game right now, and we know how hard it can be, especially as a new player, to pick up the cards you want to collect or play with. This should make it much easier to pick up the cards you are searching for and start playing the decks you’re actually passionate about!
  • Because of the scarcity of some cards, it can make trading a bit of a minefield. We want to make it an easier, more fun, and fairer experience for everyone!

We want to be as open and honest with you about these changes and we appreciate how significant they are. We know that trading values will fluctuate and we understand how frustrating that might be, but these are sincere efforts towards making a more sustainable and fair ecosystem in the game for all players.

It’s for this reason that cards like the Horrible Halloween and Festive Traditions collections, Album Specials and the Four Horsemen will not have their own perpetual Collection packs. As collectors ourselves, we don’t underestimate the effort that has gone into collecting some of these cards but we are genuinely excited about the direction these changes will take the game in!

We understand that you might have some questions, so some of us will be around on the Discord pretty regularly throughout the Season so feel free to pop in and ask :) On Thursdays, AvidJoe will also either be going LIVE with a special stream, or sharing NEW videos on how best to use some of these new viable decks so keep an eye out in the app for those.
