Measuring an average of 2 inches long, the African Pygmy Mouse is one of the smallest rodents in the world. Don't let its size fool you though - it can still jump to an impressive 50cm!
These miniscule mice can be found living in colonies or pairs, making their homes in grassy areas near water. They are excellent climbers, effortlessly navigating their way through branches. Sporting a delightful grey to brick-red fur, the African pygmy mouse has a pale underside and the most adorable triangular ears you've ever seen.
Every night, this productive little critter stacks pebbles in front of its burrow. Overnight, the pebbles gather dew, and in the morning, the mouse ventures outside to drink the fresh dew from the pebbles before returning to the den.
