Though they might sound like dragons of lore, the skies of ancient Earth were once ruled by creatures like Dawndraco, a pterosaur with a wingspan that could shadow a small car. These magnificent beasts soared over prehistoric shores, scooping fish from the water with their elongated beaks.
Unlike their dinosaur brethren, Dawndracos were adorned with a membranous wing, a marvel of prehistoric aviation. Interestingly, recent studies suggest that unlike many pterosaurs, Dawndraco's neck was less flexible, designed for stable, sustained flight. What’s more, fossil evidence suggests Dawndraco likely exhibited sexual dimorphism, with males sporting more pronounced crests used for display and attracting mates. Because you know what they say about pterosaurs: the bigger the crest, the bigger the nest*
