While you’re snoozing your alarm (again), the sun god Helios is making his daily journey in a golden chariot drawn by winged horses. At dawn, he traverses the sky from the East to the West. When he reaches the land of the Hesperides, he descends into a golden cup which takes him back to his golden palace.
In Greek mythology, Helios was depicted as a handsome man wearing a crown of the sun’s rays, and piercing eyes to reflect his all-seeing gaze. Speaking of which, when you’ve got the power to see everything on Earth and in the heavens, it’s inevitable that you’ll witness a few crimes. Take Helios for example. This ability made him an eyewitness to the abduction of Persephone by Hades and the affair between Aphrodite and Ares.
