Hide the Pain Harold, also known as András Arató, is the Mona Lisa of memes, offering an enigmatic smile that conceals a world of silent screams. It all started when Arató was on holiday, innocently posting pictures of his trip to social media. His photos caught the attention of a professional photographer, who thought Arató would be perfect for his stock photography collection.
Over a hundred photos were taken, but little did Arató know, his fake-seeming smile would become the canvas for the internet's creativity, portraying the universal struggle to smile through the pain of existence. At first, Arató was not best pleased, stating he was not really a "funny guy". After six years, he accepted meme status and has since become the advertising face for Coca-Cola in Hungary.
