In Indonesia, there are several cat lover clubs (sign me up) - many of which focus on the protection of the Raas Cat, a breed of domestic cat from Raas Island. This is an extremely rare breed of furry friend, with only an estimated 100 pure-bred Raas Cats remaining as of 2016. The local residents of Raas Island protect the purity of this breed, keeping all cats on lockdown unless they are neutered.

With similar physical characteristics to jungle cats, this short haired, medium-sized feline has four colour variations - black, chocolate, lilac and blue. A defining feature of this kitty is its long tail with a curved tip. While these cats are shy and guarded, they show great appreciation for their carers.
