Fast forward 400 years and Shakespeare’s First Folio (as it's better known) is considered the most important book in English literature.
Ah, Shakespeare - the man, the myth, the legend. But without the efforts of his actor buddies, some of his most iconic plays including Twelfth Night, The Tempest and Macbeth may have been lost to the sands of time. Fortunately, John Heminges and Henry Condell compiled 36 of his plays into a collection titled Mr. William Shakespeare's Comedies, Histories, & Tragedies.
Fast forward 400 years and Shakespeare’s First Folio (as it's better known) is considered the most important book in English literature. However, of the 750 copies printed, only 235 are known to remain. If you want to get your hands on one, a rare books dealer in London is selling a copy of the First Folio, along with a few other editions and Shakespeare's poems for a cool $7.5 million.
