As technology has advanced, the possibility of a Supersoldier is getting closer, and much more outlandish.
When Barack Obama announced that the Pentagon was trying to build Iron Man, people laughed. And, admittedly, the initiative was a failure. However, as technology has advanced, the possibility of a Supersoldier is getting closer, and much more outlandish.
Instead of building an exo-skeleton, the Pentagon is now exploring the idea of super soldiers with synthetic blood. It sounds like a Stan Lee fever dream, but the technology would effectively give soldiers trillions of miniature air tanks inside their body, allowing them to spend hours underwater.
Meanwhile, researchers at MIT are looking at ways to augment the human ankle to run all day, and DARPA is exploring how to upgrade humans so we only sleep with half of our brains at once. Anyone feel like this is a bad idea?
