Hidden deep inside a mountain on the remote island of the Svalbard archipelago, halfway between mainland Norway and the North Pole, this seed vault stores and protects nearly 1 million samples of crop varieties from about 5,000 different species.
Even if you wanted to get in, the Global Seed Vault is practically impenetrable, and unless you have actual business there, you won’t be allowed inside.
