They might resemble beefy cows with antlers thanks to their short legs and stout frames, but don’t be fooled; they could totally rock a Santa sleigh gig. Then again, unlike their globe-trotting cousins, Svalbard reindeer prefer staycations, sticking close to home all year round.
For over 5,000 years, they've lived a predator-free dream on Norway's Svalbard archipelago. In this time, these thick-furred cuties have adapted to the frosty climates and their population is as steady as their diet. When you’ve got it that good, why would you leave?
