The son of Odin and the Giantess Gridr, Vidar was known for his superhuman strength and for being a bit of a lone wolf (pun intended).
When the cataclysmic battle of Ragnarok rolled around, Vidar was one of the only gods to survive. Just as was foretold, Vidar slayed the wolf Fenrir that swallowed Odin by stepping down with one foot on the lower jaw of the monster, grabbing his upper jaw in one hand and tearing his mouth apart.
