You’ve heard of Odin, but what about his brothers Vili & Vé? Together, the brothers created the cosmos. How, you ask? Well, they slayed the giant Ymir (the first being that had come into existence) and fashioned the entire cosmos from his corpse. Standard world-creation stuff, really.

Apparently, the brothers had grown tired of watching Ymir laying on his back all day while drinking warm milk from the primeval cow Audhumbla, so they killed them – and for that, we should really be grateful.

Vé was also known as the god of the seas, but his ambition got the best of him. After losing a duel to Odin over the throne of Asgard, Odin sent his brother to the underworld as punishment.
