Look beyond the bad dates, celebrity throuples and bizarre catfishing and you’ll see: true love is real, and it can happen to you. Just look at the Dik-Dik. Considered one of the smallest antelopes in the world, these mammals are completely monogamous and will usually form life-long pair bonds. Throughout the year, the male and female will stay together, just vibing.
Highly vocal animals, Dik-Diks talk to each other with a variety of calls, including whistles, barks and bleats. They’re so lovey-dovey that they’ve become synonymous with loyalty and longevity in many African cultures; their monogamous nature and long-lasting bonds serving as a symbol of a strong relationship. But maybe this species is just superior to humans. After all, this mammal would never send an unsolicited Dik-Dik-Pic.
