Nowadays, the superstitious leave hair accessories at her former abode, hoping for a sprinkle of her famed luck.
Even punk rock band the Misfits wanted a piece of the Voodoo pie, unsuccessfully attempting to exhume Laveau from her grave after a local concert in 1982.
