Vampire Bats are so called because they do actually feed on blood, and not because they have sparkly faces. They'll take blood from sleeping animals and, occasionally, humans. They're the only species of mammal that can fly as well, but it's not all abject terror; they've also been known to adopt younger bats if something happens to their mother. Isn't that sweet?
